A postdoctoral position in synthetic biology is available in the lab.
The position involves developing new synthetic riboswitches to control gene expression to reprogram how organisms behave. Candidates should have experience with common molecular biology techniques such as PCR, gene cloning, and protein expression, as well as some background in organic chemistry. Exceptionally strong candidates will have experience in handling RNA and in performing in vitro evolution experiments such as SELEX.
The successful applicant will become a member of the Center for Fundamental and Applied Molecular Evolution and will have access to high-throughput screening facilities available within the Center. The initial appointment will be for one year and may be extended by mutual agreement. Salary and benefits are competitive.
